I don't understand exactly what he means or what he wants me to do
with this, but is there something I can tell him to try and have him not
worry about it? The IPNOTINMX test is still set to the default weight, so
none of his messages should be bounced, etc. Is this test failing because
he is sending the messages from home and Declude is running the tests on
this IP address?

E-mail will fail the IPNOTINMX test if the E-mail is sent from an IP address that is not in the MX record of the domain in the return address. It is quite common for perfectly legitimate E-mail to fail this test. It is designed to benefit presumed "good" mailservers (reducing the weight of E-mail from those servers), rather than to make it more likely that the E-mail will get caught as spam.
