No, the slashes have no special meaning. There is no regexp parsing in Declude, every search expression is a literal, but is case-insensitive.
The most common item that arises as a result: You can't search for a term with a leading space, e.g. BODY 1 CONTAINS " spam" (remove the quotes). On the other hand, text filter files are easy to read.
