1) Can I have some problem if I rename the domain? If you configure it properly, then you shouldn't have any problems. In most cases, the mail.example.com identity is completely unnecessary, and it's a bad idea to have it configured if you don't actually address E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]. 2) Have I to modify some record of the DNS? It doesn't appear that you need to modify anything for this purpose. If you don't have a Web site located at "mydomain.com" then you could remove that A record. If you have a Web site on a different IP, you would probably want to change that A record for "mydomain.com" to point to that of your Web site. 3) There is some another better form? E-mail is flexible in it's configuration so that it can match many different needs. There's always a better way it seems, but you need to be more specific. 4) How do they do it?This is normal. You were probably just confused by IMail configuring things as mail.example.com and then using an alias for example.com. It seems that you might be mixing up what people use for SMTP and POP3 servers, MX records and E-mail domains. Each of these can be completely different for a single user, but of course they need to be configured properly in DNS, the server and on the client. But I have verified that it works perfectly if I eliminate the alias and rename the domain to mydomain.com. 1) Can I have some problem if I rename the domain? 2) Have I to modify some record of the DNS? 3) There is some another better form? 4) How do they do it?
