I got a reply to my "harsh" reply to F-Prot. The new version seems to be working:
Dear Sheldon, We apologize for the inconvenience. We have released a new version of F-Prot, version 3.14a, which is more capable of detecting the Mimail virus. It must be stated that Windows users were not in any danger as the F-Prot Antivirus Realtime protector prevented the virus from running. However detecting the attachment containing the viral code needed a minor code change in the engine. Please download version 3.14a from our download site.
