In order for you to receive AVG updates ensure that port 25 is open for tcp/ip outbound traffic run this test.
ISSUE On Declude Version 4. Mail server cannot communicate on port 25 to the Declude servers for Authentication and AVG updates. After testing port access from the local server to the Declude Key manager using NSLookup, server still cannot resolve port availability. The following is an example of the NSLookup command to do this testing. >From a command prompt, issue the following commands: 1. nslookup (enter) 2. server keys.declude.com (enter) 3. set port=25 (enter) 4. set vc (enter) 5. imail-test-code.keys.declude.com (enter) The final command above returns an address of 1.1.1.1 indicating that traffic to port 25 resolves successfully. Anything other than the response of 1.1.1.1 means that either the command syntax is incorrect or the port is not open to that traffic. RESOLUTION Declude requires TCP/IP communications over port 25 for key authentication. Other than your ISP blocking traffic to your gateway a firewall/ Proxy or router can be the likely cause of that traffic being blocked. I suggest that you start by checking your Windows firewall and stop the service of it or any other program, such as an anti-virus or third party personal firewall. Then issue the above NSLookup commands. To open SMTP traffic on a Cisco Pix/ Router issue the following command. Please note these commands should be issued by somebody that is familiar with the Cisco IOS. Any changes made can ultimately be quickly reverted by rebooting the device, so long as the command was not written to memory. The command is: access-list Internet-Inbound permit tcp any host xx.xx.xx.xx eq smtp For more info please check the knowledge base at www.cisco.com David Barker Director of Product Development Your Email security is our business 978.499.2933 office 978.988.1311 fax [EMAIL PROTECTED] -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Schmeits, Roger Sent: Monday, October 09, 2006 11:49 AM To: declude.virus@declude.com Cc: David Barker Subject: [Declude.Virus] Upgrade from 3.1.x to 4.3.14 I upgraded from Declude 3.1.x (something, can't remember) to 4.3.14 at about 2 hours ago.
