I think the setup method works much better in .3? Presumably it wiped your source list file and that is bad, the original one looked like this; # Use for a local mirror - remove the llug http lines for the bits # your mirror contains. # deb file:/your/mirror/here/debian stable main contrib non-free # See sources.list(5) for more information deb http://llug.sep.bnl.gov/debian stable main contrib non-free deb http://llug.sep.bnl.gov/debian frozen main contrib non-free deb http://llug.sep.bnl.gov/debian unstable main contrib non-free deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian-non-US stable/binary-i386/ deb http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian-non-US unstable/binary-i386/ Which shows the proper way to setup non-US, see sources.list(5). > I noticed the http method was all that is implemented.
