1) apt is great! 2) slink is great! 3) I upgraded a hamm installation ~150 packages, ~350 Mbytes with apt upgrade the only gotcha was then I had no telnet/telnetd! Not apt's fault but maybe you could pass it on? 4) Some initial weirdness with libc6 and libstdc in order to get the HAMM dpkg to install the SLINK apt package. maybe that's not the best way had to use --force-things 5) there is no item 5 except apt and slink are great! I will work up some nerve and join the cause soon (Real Soon) thanks -chris
