I have corrected this in the CVS tree, can you try running the new apt-cdrom and seeing if you have better luck with it?
I have specially compiled a .deb for you that contains this fix, it is at http://www.debian.org/~jgg/apt-cd.deb Please let me know if it works Thanks Jason
