Hi. Im using apt on a potato system, and it fails to retireve anything via the http method.
I am on a corporate network, with http transparently being redirected through a network appliance cache. The following results are obtained when I try and run an update : bash-2.02# apt-get update Hit ftp://ftp.debian.org unstable/main Packages Hit ftp://ftp.debian.org unstable/main Release Hit ftp://ftp.debian.org unstable/contrib Packages Hit ftp://ftp.debian.org unstable/contrib Release Hit ftp://ftp.debian.org unstable/non-free Packages Hit ftp://ftp.debian.org unstable/non-free Release Err http://www.debian.org unstable/main Packages 400 Bad Request Ign http://www.debian.org unstable/main Release Reading Package Lists... Done Building Dependency Tree... Done W: Couldn't stat source package list 'http://www.debian.org unstable/main Packages' (/var/state/apt/lists/www.debian.org_%7ejules_gnome-stage-2_dists_unstable_main_binary-i386_Packages) - stat (2 No such file or directory) W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct theses missing files The sources.list file looks as follows : deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian unstable main contrib non-free deb http://www.debian.org/~jules/gnome-stage-2 unstable main Normal web browsing works fine to the areas listed above.
