You may be looking at update-menus' segfaults instead of apt-get's. And again, this is not really the fault of the menu package, but instead some other packages containing a broken /etc/menu-methods/<pkg> script. One such package is dwww, another one is (IIRC) afterstep. Cheers, Joost
