What happens is that pdmenu, followed by all my window managers (ctwm, kdebase, olwm, wmaker, gnome-panel are the relevant processes; I have to kill them by hand and the next one starts off) start occupying upwards of 100M RAM, causing a great slow-down of the system. It has happened twice now, only since the past weekend. At a pinch, I think it's the install-menu program that's spawning all these things; pdmenu is the first to go, followed by ctwm etc. > A suggested fix, or even a patch, if you have one.
