I need much more information than this in order to diagnose the problem. Send your entire /etc/apt/preferences file, your sources.list file and the output from: apt-cache policy gthumb apt-cache policy xlibmesa-gl-dev apt-cache policy xlibmesa-glu-dev along with a complete transcript of an apt-get invocation demonstrating the problem. -- - mdz
