You're missing the point. Bar-code scanners are just special interfaces to a keyboard. When a scanner scans something, all it does is send the equivalent keyboard codes, as though someone had typed the numbers into a regular keyboard. Therefore, your program doesn't need to know anything about bar-code scanners. All your program has to do is accept keyboard input. Whether the input comes from a real keyboard or from a bar-code scanner shouldn't be important, particularly because your program won't be able to tell the difference anyway. Keyboard input all looks the same, no matter what hardware it comes from. > maybe I need some component? > or I can use it just like a mouse even "on click"? > barcode must be saved as a picture or just numbers? Bar codes are just sequences of numbers. That's what allows the checker at the supermarket to type in the codes on the keyboard when the laser scanner can't read the bar code. -- Rob ----------------------------------------------------- Home page: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/delphi-en/ To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Yahoo!
