I unchecked each adaptor, the option to protect my computer is not available if
the firewall service is not running.
I made the below changes and I still can't receive any data from the server
running on Windows XP. I am using Delphi 5 in my developement. I am 100% sure
that it is not in the programming because the program runs fine in 2000.The OS
is the only change that has been made to the system evething else is the same.

it is possibly the firewall - even when you turn it off - you must go
to
advanced options -exception and uncheck each adaptor, then in addition
to that you must remove the option that says protect my computer from
blah blah blah in network places - are all these done?
