Delphi 7 won't do .NET. You can get a free Turbo Delphi for .NET product at www.turboexplorer.com, but it has some important caveats, the biggest being that you cannot install third-party visual components. For learning, however, this may not be a big problem immediately. The price is right. And this Turbo Delphi is basically the same as the Delphi for .NET from BDS 2006. As for learning - I think that Bob Swart has some introductory stuff on his web site at http://www.drbob42.com/, and there are some books (but I can't recommend any because I'm in the same position as you are - I want to start learning this stuff too). I think there may be some more web sites that can help - Google may be your friend on this. _____
