Hi Bobby

I waited with eager anticipation for the replies to your post as I,
too, have this problem. The error occurs on the Paradox Open
statement, not the Read. It seems that Vista will not allow you to
write to the root directory of the C drive and Paradox attempts this.
Why the prohibition? It's my drive!

Try this:

1. Create the directory c:\X

2. Copy c:\PDOXUSRS.NET to c:\X

3. Open bdeadmin.exe

4. Visit Configuration | Drivers | Native | PARADOX and change NET DIR
value to c:\X

5. Rerun your program.

Another problem with Vista is the Help file. WinHelp must be
downloaded by the end user from Microsoft who prohibit distribution.
They want us all to use HTML Help and put Auric and others out of
business.

Vista also treats executables with certain strings in the name
differently. So change the name of your progam and Vista runs it
differently! Strings include "Setup" and "Update".
