Hello All, I have a program that I wrote in Delphi 7 (VCL) over the last couple years and have an opportunity to rework a lot of my existing code. The program is pretty large and uses Bold MDA for the database management. After using Bold for this long I have grown into a love/hate relationship with it. It seems to be horribly slow with huge datasets and the memory management is far below acceptable. So, I would like to upgrade to the most recent version of Delphi knowing that this will be a huge undertaking. With that said, I have some questions that I was hoping you could help me answer. 1) Does the new version of Delphi provide any garbage collection or smart pointers for memory management? 2) How does the new version of Delphi's MDA (ECO) compare to Bold? Is the memory management better? Data access speed? 3) Any irrevocable short comings to Delphi 2007 compared to Delphi 7? 4) CLX vs VCL? Any thing I should be worried about. Thanks and please just let me know your general thoughts. Nick
