Hello Everyone,

I am currently migrating from my old machine (XP) to my new
machine (Vista). Unfortunately the Delphi 2007 debugger refuses to
work properly on the Vista machine. These are the symptoms: whenever I
press Run (F9) on any project (even the default blank project) the
application fails to start and Windows reports that project1.exe
caused an error ans was closed. The debugger then breaks into
ntdll.dll. To make matters worse about 1 time in 8 it works perfectly.
The other times the behaviour is always slightly different, eg: (a)
break into NTDLL.DLL (b) Vista shows a pop-up telling me my app has
misbehaved and has been closed (c) Delphi IDE showing me a dialog:
"Your application failed to initialise due to a problem a $C0000005"
(not the exact text).

At first I thought that I had installed some other application which
was causing the problem (I suspected MSSQL 2005 Dev ED) so I
uninstalled loads of apps without success. Next I disabled DEP, also
without success. Next (and I was getting desperate here) I reinstalled
Windows Vista and then reinstalled Delphi 2007 (Upt 1), still no
success. Next I installed Update 2, no success. At this point my
machine was pretty much as virgin install. so it must be something
particular to my machine (Core2Duo with 4Gb RAM, pretty standard stuff
really)

I logged an issue with CoreGear:

Now I'm at a loss. Has anybody experienced anything similar? Any
suggestions?
