It ought not to be so hard. There's gotta be a
betta way as Donnie Deutsch likes to say.
And so maybe there is something out there that hasn't had its day in the
sun. Does anybody know of such a new star?
Format conversion (from text-like to text or graphics-like to some standard)
is an old problem that does not seem to be getting completely solved any
time soon. Too many companies have a vested interest in locking up data
into proprietary formats. I don't think Microsoft has ever released a
specification for its Access .MDB files. Even Microsoft's own Windows
Desktop Search can't index the text in .MDB files.
