Well in the old DOS days '..' pointed to the parent directory - I wonder where it 
points now (in your case).
This still applies when used in pathnames, so maybe NT has to accept it has a valid 
filename - perhaps you can make '..' point somewhere else.

I agree, seems bad to accept this as a filename, okay as long it is only part of the 
pathname.
