I agree your comments about Rose + the diagrams are really ugly in print.

For straight Database modelling, I think Sybase Appmodelar is hard to beat.

Rose is not expensive as part of Vis Studio.

Really, Delphi would do well to include a customised version of one of these
modelling tools.

Have you tried 'Object Domain 2.5' - www.objectdomain.com ?  We have just
gone through an exhaustive review process of 20+ (I think) different OO
design tools and this one came out on top.  Rose was good functionally wise
but in my opinion has an unhelpful (read stupid) interface which makes
medium to large projects difficult to manage.  Oh, and its really expensive.

At the moment it has no link to Delphi but the Object Domain people have
indicatied that they intend to include this in a later update.  It should be
easy enough to adapt the C++ import/export scripts to link with delphi
though.

There is a way to import an entire delphi project into it though using their
older applications, Snorkel and Object Domain 1.  If anyones interested I
could post a 'how to on that.
