NT does not have the resource limitations that 95 and its predecessors (3.1
etc) have always suffered from. Resource allocations went up massively in 95
but apparently so did programs' demands on them. We think nothing of running
Delphi, Outlook, Access, Word and Excel all at the same time yet that would
have been absolutely impossible under Windows 3.1 where even going from 8
bit to 24 bit colour on the display settings could consume 20% of GDI
resources.
