Just did a bit of help reading on {$R} and then noticed they mentioned both 
resources in one {$R} directive, so I changed my .pas to read:

  {$R *.DFM SFM.RES}

And it all works fine.  I guess the something was getting confused.  Would this 
be classified as a possible bug in Delphi at all?
