Um . . . . I don't know how to say this ... but ... I just rebooted the machine (about the 10th time today) started Delphi (about the 20th time today) and the problem has disappeared! I can make it reappear at 800x600 but not any other resolution. That's weird! Still - got a good discussion going on the group! No permanently damaged relationships, I hope! (ducks for cover) Mark
