Ping uses a different port to the socket server so this won't prove anything 
as the proxy works on a per port basis.  In this case ping in always let 
through but port 211 isn't.

AHA!  Of course.  Andrew, you could try reinstalling the winsock patch after 
the proxy client.  This may do it.  But I still think the proxy client is 
uncessary.  Check with Ian as I'm sure they deinstalled all these at work.
