Hi Team,
Anybody interested in this project? Please contact Richard Shea directly if you are.
I have no idea about money, nor anything else.
Cheers,
Kerry

In terms of what I want to do :
1. Using a 1394 board read the contents of a DV camcorder tape
into an AVI file. This is to be done as a 'batch' job so that no user
intervention is involved.
2. Read the resulting AVI file and grab a bitmap from the video
stream at pre-determined intervals (probably something like every 5
frames - this value is to be taken as a parameter). As each bitmap
is created write the timecode (originally on the tape now in the AVI)
to a separate file (allowing us to map the bitmap back to tape
location). As in 1 this should be done as a 'batch' job.
Funnily enough in writing it down I've realised that it's simpler than I
had thought ! ... or rather I've cut some of the bells and whistles out
!
Anyway I am confident that all of the above can be done via DirectX
(at least the documentation claims it can !) but I do not have the
skills to do it promptly which is what is needed.
As an aside I would say that the AmCap sample that comes with
the DirectX SDK does 95% of 1 and I have read (although not
necessarily understood ;-) instructions to amend it to
accommodate the above.
So there you are - as you can probably guess my intention is to
run an image analysis process over the resulting bitmaps - at the
moment they have to be created manually and this limits the
number of times the analysis can be used.
If you know of anyone who might be able to help I would be very
pleased to hear from them.
Thanks for your interest.
Richard Shea.
