well we've done some simple testing and found under heavy load (muliple
threads - ISAPI) IBX works more reliably and slightly faster than either BDE
or IBO. (for our purposes anyway). For our stuff to date it has only been
fairly simple selects, updates and inserts - no stored procedures etc.
that was before we implemeted connection pooling though, but haven't found
the need go back and test again.

I'd wondered about that. Nobody's been willing to tell me IBO's
shortcomings. :-) On the other hand, there are a lot of people who will
confidently tell you that IBO is better than IBX - and I haven't found
anybody who's said the opposite so far...
