of us - that certainly wasn't my intention! ;-)
My point was more that some people find SQL difficult to understand,
especially more complex queries. I think the Ansi standard reads better from
a pseudo english point of view than standard syntax, just as I think Delphi
reads better than C++ does (again from a pseudo english point of view). I
think the way joins are implemented in standard syntax would be fairly
cryptic if you were just learning for the first time (cf Ansi where it
specifically says, we are joining x with y on a = b).
Of course the fact remains that if I hadn't been pushed into using Ansi
syntax I would still be using standard syntax myself so I can't really argue
with you!
