Well, we got wind of a deal that Borland NZ were doing, where you purchased (or upgraded) to D7 from any other Delphi Pro version and you got a software assurance (or it was part of the price) that you got Delphi 8 when it was availible. To quote from the document I got from Borland, "Upgrade to Delphi 7 Studio NOW and with Software Assurance, receive Delphi 8 automatically !"
But, in saying that, I remember Richard saying when Delphi 7 was released that if you brought Delphi 7 you got the .Net IDE update for free. Then they decided to call it Delphi 8 ! Which then made me think, have they gone back on what they said now, but then I heard about the above, so I guess they are staying true to what they said.....GOOD ON YA BORLAND !
