I was suspecting our spam filters on our server because I get the
occasional DUG message in my spam folder. Kind of takes that quick
interactive aspect away when there are huge delays. If its not the news
group then I'll have to solve it here another day. 

Thanks to Phil Scadden for your suggestions. I've now resolved my Vista
issues with shared memory. Looking forward to the other problems I see
mentioned on the DUG with certain controls "Not!" hoping its maybe
something I can control by com version control in a manifest file
anyway.
I've separated my updatable files from my read-only and placed in
appropriate locations, Moved admin tasks like creating global shared
memory to the service. Only using manifest files with
"requireAdministartor" now in programs that setup or configure software.
