Cameron, if someone else was asking the question I am, I might well give him your reply too. Having invested the time in it, I haven't reached the point where I can chuck it out and relearn something else.
Bit by bit, I have already replaced most of D4P with straight php, html or javascript - mostly for efficiency. The only thing left now is the query and grid. And the panel does make it a lot easier than using html-table manually. Finally the debugger started working (its just temperamental), but I don't need it now.
