Having only used COM to add a menu item to Explorer so far, my
knowledge in this area is pretty weak, but I'd like to get some basic info9
regarding use of the Servers Delphi provides such as the Microsoft Word
Application Server and/or the Word document server.
All the help is in C-speak which is of no help, and so far I haven't
found any examples on the internet that explain things very well either.
But basically what I'd like to do is be able to have a form in my Delphi
application open up when created with a new Word document and with access to
all Word's commands, etc. I will also need then to be able to Save the
document into a database Blob record and open one up from a blob record as
well.
First, which server should I use? From what I was able to find out
both provide access to all of word's services, but that the document server
only allows one document to be open in place at one time. If that's the
only difference it's fine with me as I only need one doc at a time in this
context. It's being able to load and save a word document into/from the
database record that I am mostly concerned with if everything else is equal.
If anyone has any knowledge in this area I'd like to hear from them!
