In the Pascal supplement of the first edition of Press, Flannery, Teukolsky, Vetterling's Numerical Recipes, Cambridge University Press, 1986 the FIT routine seems appropriate.
Later editions for C don't have the Pascal versions, I think. See: http://www.nrbook.com/a/ which has downloadable free but not quite so old versions. The C or Fortran versions contain an equivalent for the FIT routine which should do the job.
