Well the REAL problem is not that Vista has a set of standards we're
all supposed to follow...as to where different files are supposedly required
to be placed. Such standards are fine if they are followed by everyone!
The problem is that every different app or whatever has been placing these
different files where THEY want them instead of following the standards!
Just look where CodeGear has placed the package source files for its
shell controls on a system setup for one particular user! And because
Delphi 2009 can't even find them on a system set that way, they're not
compiled or installed! According to users I've talked to on the CodeGear
forums, Delphi does find and compile them on a system set so that it's
available for ALL users! Then compare that to the same for a couple
different components!

"...There no longer exists any communities...only special Interests." as
remarked by one Photojournalist and Writer in relation to the infamous
'Mapplethorp trial' of Cinncinate. I'm happy to know why this is true and
the protection it provides everyone from 1st amendment rights
violations...escpecially those in L.A. and Seattle!
As for New York, it's difficult to get worked up over a conglomerate of
special interests such as it represents, when opposition to every one and
every thing not their own has become its most apparent trait and appalling
attribute!

This is because it is the recommended (and required - for certification)
place to store user settings and data for an installed application.
You can overwrite the location in the install though.
