I am using Windows 8 (new install) inside VirtualBox to test my application and I get this message when it calls GBAK.EXE from a ShellExecuteEx. The application has worked OK in XP and Win 7. The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application. Procmon shows that when GBAK calls FBCLIENT.DLL CreateFileMapping - FILE LOCKED WITH ONLY READERS I have tried moving a copy of FBCLIENT.DLL into System32 but Procmon just shows the same error in the new location, as well, in place of previously shown NAME NOT FOUND in Sys32 path. This "CreateFileMapping" doesn't occur prior to Win8 afaik. I have tried Troubleshoot Compatibility on GBAK.EXE and Procom reports the same issue. Any ideas would be appreciated? Geoff
