I suspect it will be ok if you add '?format=html' to that url, i.e. open
http://localhost:3001/api?format=html
(this is not a solution but at least should put us on the right track)
Having said that, I don't see quite why it would default to showing you the xml
(i.e. in firefox you can request http://localhost:3001/api?format=xml). I
recall a conversation a while back with Michal+David - this *might* be
something to do with IE8 accept headers.
