When the specified bucket location is 'us-east-1' we will remove it before making the call out to S3.
IF you are using the default region specific endpoint s3.amazonaws.com you MUST NOT specify the bucket location 'us-east-1'. Sending the bucket location 'us-east-1' to S3, when using the s3.amazonaws.com endpoint (us-east) causes S3 to fail the operation. Go figure. (hey, I'm just the messenger here).
