Using cairo, like shown on the attached pieces_test.py, not data is lost,
and event if there's huge amount of pieces for a really small space, all
data will be shown. The pieces are only collapsed to reduce the number of
rectangle draws. I like this approach much better. How about it?
I'll take up the GTK part of the task of this is accepted.
