I would like to officially extend my gratitude to "Steve" on Twitter for
letting me know about Octordle, a difficult variation of the Wordle word
game genre. More than the original or its early offsprings of Dordle (two
words) and Quordle, Octordle has annoyed me (four words). And I keep
 returning to get more.

I made light of the end of the chaos when I wrote about Quordle in mid-
February. It turned out to not be a joke. A Wordle-inspired game called
Octordle challenges you to group together eight different five-letter
words simultaneously with just 13 guesses.

The mechanisms are well known. You are given hints as to which letters are
present in each word, which ones are absent, and which ones are merely in
the incorrect positions. When compared to Octordle, which I prefer to use
while enjoying my morning coffee, Wordle is more like a lighthearted,
carefree activity. What is going to expire first? The right responses? My
 hunches? My endurance?

I initially believed Octordle would be a mere afterthought. words in
excess I had to decide where to draw the line. But it nags at me to play
after I've finished Wordle, Dordle, and Quordle for the day, like a little
 devil on my shoulder.
