So, it would appear that it found the lilypond-bin file.
Just to be sure, maybe it would be beneficial if you sent me a link to the file
that I should be using.

If it does not find it then you don't have the updated release. You may have

I then changed the path to the path immediately above and that didn't have any
effect.
Any ideas on how to proceed?

What you have from git is the source code - it's difficult to build,
which is why Jeremiah does it.
