Hello, I'm maintainer of the denemo package for Gentoo Linux. Currently
there's an issue with users who have installed guile-2.2 already, as configure
won't find a valid guile installation and therefore stops with an error.
I found the patch
https://github.com/waebbl/gentoo/blob/denemo/media-sound/denemo/files/denemo-2.2.0-find-guile-2.2.patch
solves the issue, at least for gentoo. I'm using autoconf-2.69 and
automake-1.15.1 here.
