BTW version 1.1.0 is 19 releases out of date see http://www.denemo.org/roadmap/ for all the features you are missing! try http://www.denemo.org/~rshann/denemo_2.2.9.AppImage instead - you don't have to install that - just put it anywhere, make it executable and run it. Denemo is mainly strong on entering music, import is only useful if you have a large amounts of notes and durations already entered and want to start from that.
