I'm not sure quite what you are saying here - Alt+f (that is, holding
down the alt key while clicking the f key with the CapsLock off) should
give the command AddF, unless you have the Navigation by Keypress
preference turned on. Alt+F (that is, holding down the alt and shift
keys while clicking the f key with the CapsLock off, or holding down
the alt key while clicking the f key with the CapsLock on) is not bound
to a command. (Well, these are my shortcuts, but I don't think I've
altered any of those).

Ctrl+f is for various find operations - follow with Ctrl-f, h or i
again, that's my shortcuts.

The operating systems/window managers often intercept some keystrokes
so that Denemo never gets them - is that your problem?
