You are probably looking for Notes/Rests > Append/Edit Note > Cautionary Accidental (without brackets) and Notes/Rests > Append/Edit Note Reminder Accidental (with brackets).

Looks like the default installation setting for the "Force Cautionary
Accidental" is hidden and can't be added to any pull-down menus - the suggestion is
to add it as a palette button. I followed the suggestion, then tried to trigger it, but
nothing happens.

I tried cursoring to the note with implied (key signature) accidental and
clicking the button, and also tried selecting-highlighting the note. Still
nothing.

1. Is there a bug preventing it from functioning?
2. Cautionary accidentals are fairly common in typesetting, so I think it should have
a legitimate place among other available commands -- perhaps under Notes/Rests ->
Markings -> Accidentals

Under the (new item) Accidentals we could have

* Cautionary (Courtesy) Accidental
* Respell as Sharp (enharmonic alternate)
* Respell as Flat (enharmonic alternate)

3. Should probably include the word "Courtesy" parenthetically, as that is one of the
common ways of referring to this phenomenon. Some may search "cautionary" in command
center and not find

The resulting typesetting should be a parenthetic accidental (e.g., "(#)" or
the flat equivalent)

4. I mentioned Respell as sharp/flat -- but that is a separate function that is sometimes needed...
Not sure what the denemo-to-lilypond mapping function would be here... where lilypond achieves this
through the "!" syntax (i think?), such as "cis!" -- and what a \transpose
function in lilypond does with this, but the need exists on rare occasions.

5. Also, I think "Force cautionary accidental" is redundant, because all "cautionary accidentals"
are "forced" typeset-wise, by definition (kind of like saying "happy euphoria")
