Yes. This is because of the parallel ordering of tasks which is combinatorial.

The speedup is not linear, but is pretty good nonetheless. From 64 to 128 processor cores, you should see at least 30-40 % speedup. However your mileage can vary (latency, NUMA memory).
or depents? And another one, when i use more cpus this affects my results? for example using 224 cpus for e.coli i get N50=80011 and if i use 64 cpus i get N50=68137, is normal to have a value +- 10K??
Is this N50 difference for contigs or scaffolds ?
