Greetings all!

DenyHost seems to work flawless so far, its blocking all the bad people.
My DailyRuns (yes, I run FreeBSD) now shows 50 failed logins from
several hosts, instead of a 2mb failed logfile.

But there are two, strike that, three things that I need clarification,
if you would:

1. Can DenyHost use /usr/sbin/sendmail directly, instead of Port 25?
   sending mail on port 25 fails with

   SMTP AUTH extension not supported by server.

   So using sendmail (actually postfix) directly would be awesome :)

2. I have this in my config, among other things:

   SYNC_SERVER = http://xmlrpc.denyhosts.net:9911
   SYNC_INTERVAL = 1h
   SYNC_UPLOAD = yes
   SYNC_DOWNLOAD = yes

   and this firewall rule:

   allow tcp from me to 206.72.84.195 dst-port 9911 [...]

   But it has never been used. The log does not show any syncing
   activity.

3. My logfile gets bombed with

   Jan 11 15:36:43 - denyhosts   : ERROR    regex pattern ( User
(?P<user>.*) not allowed because not listed in AllowUsers ) is missing
'host' group

   about 16mb of that per 8 hours.

Any help on either (or all) matters would be greatly welcomed!

Thanks in advance,

- -Christian.
