I guess I should have just said, "I haven't a clue." I see that, although I said I had installed python 2.5.1, the path I configured in daemon-control DENYHOSTS_BIN = "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.3/bin/denyhosts.py" But that was the only denyhosts.py to be found. I note that the 2.5 version of python was installed at: /usr/local/bin/python2.5 which is symbolically linked from /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.5.
