Hi All:
As an update, I was able to resolve both issues... All of a sudden, it started
sending emails today, and I was able to remove my IP permanently by:
1) stopped denyhosts
2) removed all occurences of my IP from the WORK_DIR via "find . | xargs grep
<ip>"
3) ensured my IP was correctly formatted in the allowed-hosts file
4) removed all occurences of my IP from the /var/log/auth.log
5) removed my IP from /etc/hosts.deny
6) started denyhosts back up
DANG! A lot of work, but I am back in! YAY! :)
Thx,
--Russ

Subject: 2 questions
Hello List:
I have 2 questions which hopefully ya'll can answer :)
1) I'm not receiving any emails from DenyHosts... I've configured everything
properly (at least I'm hoping I did :p ) and I've verified that the server CAN
send email with the parameters provided by attempting to send an email via
telnet and the settings. I don't see any failures in the /var/log/denyhosts
either... just nothing?
2) I've locked myself out! I had forgotten to create the "allowed-hosts" file,
in the haste of setting DenyHosts up. I've gone ahead and added the file, and
removed myself from the hosts.deny manually, but I keep getting blocked :/
Can someone please help me resolve these 2?
Thank you,
--Russ
