I am hoping that this is not the case but it does all depend on how
many of us use the sync server. In theory (AFAIK), some emails will
not be sent for the same attacker as their IP address would have been
uploaded to the sync server and would therefore be refused connections
(connection refusals do not generate an email).

This all does depend on how many of us do use the sync server and the
frequency of the sync updates.

I'm also thinking that if emails are sent from a single location then
it will be easier to black list (as opposed to a distributed source of
email notifications).... just thinking out loud here.
