Myrna van Lunteren commented on DERBY-6218:
-------------------------------------------
I noticed the following known issues in generating the release notes:
- the ReleaseNotesGenerator under cygwin creates RELEASE-NOTES.html with
inconsistent line-endings (I fixed that by using the cygwin utility dos2unix)
- the instructions tell one to first circulate release notes, but at that
point, the version in JIRA is still the old version.
- the wiki talks about the filter id, but the instruction box doesn't actually
pass that on, so you hit one failure
In addition, I saw the following things which were new to me:
- the 'incompatibilities' section gets created with the phrase:
"Derby release 10.10.1.3 introduces the following new features and
incompatibilities. These merit your special attention"
This phrase is not from releaseSummary.xml, but with a bug fix release, it
should not say 'new features'.
- I got the following build error, although apparently the Release Notes were
created OK:
---------
BUILD FAILED
C:\derby\1010\10.10\tools\release\build.xml:167: The following error occurred
while executing this line:
C:\derby\1010\10.10\tools\release\build.xml:522: Unable to delete file
